ABOUT THE VISIONARY
Paul M Gitwaza was born in a Christian Family in the city of Uvira and grew up in the village of Bijombo (South-Kivu, DR-Congo).
His father being among the first converts to the Christian faith, led by the Swedish Pentecostal missionaries raised him strictly in the way
of the Lord.
Paul received Christ as His Lord and Savior at the tender age of 9, was baptized in the Holy Ghost at 12 and became a preacher at age 14.
At the age of 16 Paul received a life changing vision that would forever define his life journey on earth.
In a vision, he saw a man showing him a global map, and this man told him that he would go into different nations
preaching the message of the kingdom of God. Paul was very astonished because at that time, he hadn’t moved from his remote village to any other place until when he would turn 18years, in 1989.
From His Village to College
At the age of 18, he went to the University in Kisangani-D.R Congo, where he continued to seek the face of God,
and gathered a few students to stand with him in pursuit of God.
In 1992, while attending regularly his daily prayers in the city of Kisangani, God revealed to him
about His intention to raise an “End-Time Army” (Warriors) around the world. This mighty army would prepare people
for the return of the King of Kings - the Lord Jesus Christ. However, this Ministry was yet to start.
He was instructed to tarry a bit and only start when the Lord would give instructions.
God told him that this end-time revival movement would reach every corner of the world, through the mighty army of obedient servants, fully committed and equipped to invade, conquer, occupy and transform the nations for the kingdom’ sake. The army would be made of people devoted to the Lord, uncompromising in their love for the Lord despite the sufferings and persecutions they would face.
In 1993, Paul relocated to Kenya from Kisangani with the ambition to pursue studies in Aviation in Australia while waiting for the appointed time of God to start the promised ministry.
While in Kenya he became a full-time minister.
In 1995, three years after the vision was given, The Lord began speaking to him and directing him to start the ministry. It was in that time that the Lord revealed both the name and the location of where the ministry will start.
The place was Kigali, Rwanda and the Ministry would be “Authentic Word”.
Paul left Kenya and arrived in Rwanda on October 1st, 1995. This was a major life changing decision to take on during the aftermath of the 1994 Genocide against Tutsis.
Authentic Word Ministries officially started in 1996, in humble and very difficult conditions.
Since then, the ministry has grown greatly by the Grace of God and opened doors in several countries on different continents around the globe including Africa, Europe, Asian, Oceania, and North America.
We are a ministry that is founded on biblical principles with the vision to transform our communities and the nations to become a dwelling place for God.
The mission of Zion Temple Celebration Centre, through Authentic Word Ministries is to become a
transformational tool of God to the people. We seek to achieve this by ministering to the people in in three fundamental ways:
• Socio-economically developing them.
• Equipping and empowering them to become the best that God has purposed them to be.
The history of Authentic Word Ministries, which birthed Zion Temple Celebration Centre, dates back to the early 1990s. In 1992, in the city of Kisangani (in Democratic Republic of Congo), God gave a revelation to a young man by the name of Paul Gitwaza.
The revelation was about God's intention to raise an army of "end times warriors" around the world in order to prepare the bride of Christ before His majestic return.
God's vision for this ministry was to birth an end time revival movement that would reach every corner of the world, through a mighty army of servants who would be both fully committed and equipped to fight and win the battle for the Lord. The army would be made up of people devoted to the Lord and uncompromising in their love for the Lord despite suffering and persecution that they would face.

OUR STATEMENT OF FAITH
Zion Temple Celebration Center has adopted the following statement of Faith as its standard and official expression of its doctrine.
Isaiah 43:10-11:“You are my witnesses,” declares the LORD, “and my servant whom I have chosen, that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Before me no god was formed, nor shall there be any after me. 11 I, I am the LORD, and besides me there is no savior. ”, Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; Luke 3:22; 1 Corinthians 8:6; Colossians 1:16; Hebrews 1:2
We believe in one God, eternally existing in the three persons (commonly known as the Trinity); namely, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The one true God has revealed Himself as the eternally self-existent "I AM," the Creator of heaven and earth, the Redeemer of mankind. He has further revealed Himself as embodying the principles of relationship and association as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
The Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ
We believe in the Creator and Supreme Being of the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the Father, conceived of the
Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary. As God’s Son, Jesus was both human and divine. He was crucified, buried, and raised from the dead;
He ascended to heaven and is today at the right hand of the Father as our Intercessor.
More specifically, we believe the following concerning
• His virgin birth: Matthew 1:23, Luke 1:31, Luke 1:35
• His sinless life: Hebrews 7:26, 1 Peter 2:22
• His miracles: Acts 2:22, Acts 10:38
• His substitutionary work on the cross: 1 Corinthians 15:3, 2 Corinthians 5:21
• His bodily resurrection from the dead: Matthew 28:6, Luke 24:39, 1 Corinthians 15:4
• His exaltation to the right hand of God: Acts 1:9-11, 2:33, Philippians 2:9-11, Heb 1:3
• His ministry of intercession: Hebrew 7:24-25
2 Peter 1:20-21 “knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone's
own interpretation. For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God
as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.”; 2 Timothy 3:13-17, 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 1 Corinthians 15:1-2.
We believe in the verbal inspiration of the Bible. The Scriptures are inspired by
God and declare His design and plan for mankind. The Scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments
(66 books), are verbally inspired of God and are the revelation of God to Man and the infallible, authoritative rule of faith and conduct.
The Fall of Man
Romans 3:23 “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,”;
Romans 5:12-21; Genesis 1:26-27; Genesis 2:17; Genesis 3:6-7.
We believe that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God and that repentance is commanded of God for all
and necessary for forgiveness of sin. Man was created good and upright; for God said, "Let us make Man in Our own
image, after Our likeness." However, Man by voluntary transgression fell and thereby incurred not only physical
death but also spiritual death, which is separation from God.
Salvation of Man
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” ; Romans 10:8-13; 1Corinthians 15:3-4; Acts 26:18; Titus 2:11; Romans 8:16; Ephesians 4:24; Galatians 5:22.
We believe that every person can have restored fellowship with God through Salvation, Justification and Regeneration. Furthermore, we believe that the new birth is wrought by faith through the blood of Jesus. Man’s only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ the Son of God.
Romans 6:4 “We were buried therefore with Him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.” Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:16; Acts 10:47; Acts 10:48.
We believe in the Ordinances of the Church: Baptism in Water and Holy Communion
Baptism in Water, the ordinance of baptism by immersion, is commanded by the Scriptures. All who repent and believe on Christ as Savior and Lord are to be baptized in the name of the Father and the Son and of the Holy Ghost. Thus, they declare to the world that they have died with Christ and that they also have been raised with Him to walk in newness of life.
The Lord’s Supper, consisting of the elements —bread and the fruit of the vine —is the symbol expressing our sharing the divine nature of our Lord Jesus Christ.
A memorial of his suffering and death: 2 Peter 1:4.
A prophecy of His second coming and is enjoined on all believers "till He comes!"; 1 Corinthians 11:26.
The Baptism of the Holy Spirit
Acts 2:1-4 “When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.”; Acts 2:4-8; Acts 2:38-39; Acts 1:8-10; Acts 19:6.
We believe that the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is a Special experience following Salvation. The Baptism in the Holy Spirit empowers believers for witnessing and effective service today, just as it did in New Testament times. Among the physical evidences of the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is the speaking of tongues.
Matthew 18:18 “Truly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”; Mark 5:6-13; Mark 9:14-27; Acts 8:13-24; Acts 16:16-17; John 11:43-44.
We believe that a man can be under the control of the power of darkness; therefore he needs deliverance. A believer can be under control of the devil and evil spirits either through hereditary curses, un-confessed sin. Though some times this bondage cannot prevent someone to inherit the eternal life but can hinder him from living an abundant, prosperous and victorious life.
We therefore believe that God has given to the church the authority over demons and the power to rebuke all the powers of darkness that exercise their influence on the people of God. Furthermore, we believe that God has given to the Church the authority to bind and rebuke the demons and declare inner and physical healing in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
Ephesians 1:22-23 “ And He put all things under His feet and gave Him as head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.”; Ephesians 2:22; Hebrews 12:23; Acts 2: 41-42; 1Corinthians 10: 16-17.
We believe that the Church is the body of Christ. The Church is an assembly of the believers who confess their faith in Jesus Christ. It is built upon the person of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. The doctrines and practices of the Church are based upon His teachings. The Church has a mission to seek and save all who are lost in sin; and to be the light and the salt of the world. Each believer, born of the Spirit, is an integral part of the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn, which are written in heaven.
The Five-fold ministry
Ephesians 4:11-16 “And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, …”
We believe in the five-fold ministry. The five-fold ministry is still working today.
We believe that the offices of the Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor and Teacher were
given by God to equip the Church for the following:
• The perfecting of the saints
• The work of the ministry
• The edifying of the Body of Christ
The Millennial Reign of Christ
Revelation 1:7 “Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even
those who pierced him, and all tribes of the earth will wail on account of him. Even so
We believe in the Millennial Reign of Christ Jesus. We believe that He
will return with His saints at His second coming and begin His benevolent rule over earth
for 1,000 years. This millennial reign will bring the salvation of national Israel and the establishment of universal peace.
Matthew 25:46 “And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”;
Mark 9:43-48; Revelation 19:20; Revelation 20:11-15.
We believe that a final judgment will take place. There will be a final judgment in which the wicked
dead will be raised and judged according to their works. Whosoever is not found written in the Book of Life,
together with the devil and his angels, the beast and the false prophet, will be consigned to the everlasting
punishment in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.
